The Olivia Act, named for one of the children killed in Newtown, was started by a photographer who wishes to be anonymous. Olivia’s family had a family portrait done a short time before she was killed. Those pictures are precious and now priceless to Olivia’s family. Upon hearing this, this photographer was moved to give away a 30 minute family photo shoot and has challenged other photographers to do the same. I recently had my own family’s portrait done for the very first time since my wedding!! (Shoemaker’s kids…) I will cherish the resulting images for the rest of our lives.
I will be taking nominations for 2 families who you think would appreciate this gift of memories. Each family will receive a free 30 minute family portrait session and a CD of the images, with full printing rights. The sessions will take place in the spring of 2013.
Email your nominations to lauren@laurenreppucci.com with the subject titled “Olivia Act” and include a brief message on who you’re nominating and why. Please include an email address for the family as I will contact them via email to let them know they’ve been selected. I’ll be taking nominations anytime between now (December 20th) and December 31st. The two families selected will be announced on my page and contacted on New Year’s Day!
Please SHARE this status so your friends and family will know too!
And fellow photographers, please think about participating in the Olivia act too. ♥ Thanks Liz, of Elizabeth Watsky Photography for letting me know about this wonderful idea.
